What we do
Welcome to Long Term Ecology, a site to highlight the field based research of long term monitoring projects undertaken across South Eastern Australia. Since 1983 the research team has conducted major long-term ecological monitoring under the direction of Professor David Lindenmayer.

"On ground research is important as it's based on reality, rather than assumptions"
David Lindenmayer, CEED 2015

Our research
Led by David Lindenmayer, the team consists of ten full time field based researchers. The team forms part of the The Conservation and Landscape Ecology Group of the Fenner School within The Australian National University. Each member of the team is highly experienced in ecological monitoring and several staff have worked with the team for over a decade.
